Queensland Accredited Traffic Controller Course

This training course has been designed by the Queensland Government Department of Main Roads in order to accredit individuals with the skills and knowledge required to become a Traffic Controller in Queensland. This course is delivered by an Accredited Traffic Control Training Provider.

On successful completion of the course and issue of the Traffic Controller Licence from Queensland Transport, participants may gain employment in the Traffic Management Industry. There are many employers seeking staff for Full-Time and Casual hours to start ASAP. Don't miss this opportunity.

Prerequisites

All participants must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for a Traffic Controller Licence therefore we require the same standards prior to enrolment into this course:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have held an open or provisional drivers licence (Australian or Foreign) continuously for at least 12 months in the past 5 years
• Must not have any criminal convictions in the past 5 years that constitute a disqualifying offence. This does not generally include driving offences (eg. speeding, drink driving, etc). Contact us for more info if you are unsure. 
  

Licensing

Licences are processed by Queensland Transport following completion of the course. As at 1 July 2009, the Licence Application Fee including the Criminal History Check Fee is $117.85 for a three year licence. Licence fees are subject to change without notice however they are normally increased on 1 July annually.

Licence Applications are lodged at most Queensland Transport Customer Service Centres. The approximate processing time for licence applications is 3 - 4 weeks due to the time required for criminal history checks although this time may vary in some cases. Applicants are not permitted to work as a Traffic Controller until they receive their Licence.

Duration

This course is conducted over 4 hours. We offer the course on weekdays, weekends and in the evenings.

Cost

The cost of this course is $150

Other Information

The latest Traffic Management Code of Practice requires all Traffic Controllers to complete an OH&S Induction (White Card) or equivalent in order to work on construction sites.
