Traffic Management – Level 2

Traffic Management Level 2 is targeted at persons required to implement Traffic Management Plans (TMP).  Many candidates will not require training beyond this level

Content:

• Legislation & responsibilities
• Definitions related to roadworks signing
• Identifying traffic control devices and their functions
• Implementing traffic guidance schemes
• Record keeping

 Assessment:

An open book written assessment that focuses on the participant’s ability to read and interpret the Part 3 Works on Roads manual.

Participants who score low in the assessment will require re-training before re-assessment.

Because of the assessment requirements, participants MUST have sound literacy skills.

All Candidates’ who successfully complete the theory component of the course will receive a ‘statement of attendance’ certificate.

Candidates who then successfully complete the practical assessment as per unit of competence 30864QLD Implement Traffic Guidance Schemes will be issued with a ‘Statement of Attainment’ certificate and wallet sized photographic ID competency card.

Assessment consists of:

• Written theoretical component.
• Evidence of the practical application of the implementation of 30864QLD on 3 different sites of varying complexity.
• Signed third party report from your supervisor confirming applications of knowledge and skills.

This unit is based on the training requirements for the Traffic Management for Construction or Maintenance Work Code of Practice 2008 for persons who are required to implement a traffic guidance scheme for the advanced application of the MUTCD Part 3.
