Rewarding and Informing VET professionals at 2016 NVC
It’s a time for celebrating the commitment and contributions that VET professionals have been making to the lives of their students and staff with the 2016 National Vet Conference. Held on the Gold Coast last week, the conference saw over 1400 VET professionals from both the public and private sector come together for an engaging and informative 2 days.
Brooke Shellback, our Marketing and Communications Officer along with Steve Murphy, Training Partner and Franchise Manager and Mark Costello, Managing Director had the opportunity to showcase our large range of post-graduate qualifications developed specifically for the leaders and managers of the VET industry.
This year the theme of the conference was ‘Celebrating VET’ which focused on policy and reform; RTO management and compliance; training and assessing; VET shapers and eLearning. It certainly was all about the way of the future and celebrating the continuous growth and innovation in our sector.
With guest speakers like Jimeoin and an address by the Honourable Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, delegates were not disappointed by the quality and volume of knowledge and information they digested at the conference.
Asset College took the time to speak to delegates about their options for Recognition of Prior Learning and how they could be rewarded for their commitment to the sector with nationally recognised qualifications.
The 2016 National VET conference also gave Asset College the opportunity to receive feedback from current and prospective RPL clients on improvements to RPL processes and procedures and we were lucky enough to hear how being recognised for their skills and knowledge through post-graduate assessment gave VET professionals a huge sense of achievement and a new-found drive for gaining even more qualifications!
This year’s theme ‘Celebrating VET’ allowed Asset College to do just that with delegates by sharing knowledge and ideas and transforming these into practicable, actionable approaches to doing things better within our own organisations.
Asset College are always honoured to be a part of events where we can network and brainstorm new ways of working with other VET professionals to continue to improve the experiences we can provide for our clients and to the betterment of the industry as a whole.
