Rhys Won’t Be Delivering Your Pizzas Anymore! He now has a career in security….
That’s because he decided to complete his Certificate II in Security Operations course with Asset College where our Employer Connections program helped him gain his first role in the industry!
Rhys Andrews knows all about customer service. Being a pizza delivery driver for about two years, he has seen the best and the worst when it comes to handling customers.
Skills in customer service are essential for success in the security industry and when Rhys decided to try something new, he made the right choice in transitioning to the security industry.
Rhys found Asset College one day as he was trawling through Google.
‘I saw all of the good reviews about the college, so I thought I’d give you a call’.
Turns out that was the best phone call Rhys could make. Rhys attended our North Lakes office to complete his course and with the help of his trainer James, excelled in the classroom.
‘James is an amazing trainer and assessor. He delivered the course so well. He really took time to explain everything!’
On completion of his course, our Employment Services Coordinator, Rebecca Cuneo helped refer Rhys through to one of our employer partners. This resulted in Rhys gaining a position with Tru Security and as we write this; he would have just completed his first shift at Eatons Hill Hotel!
‘I would definitely recommend Asset College to anyone who is looking for a career in security. It was a very positive experience. I am looking at this industry as a long-term career path and once I have some experience, I will look at doing my Firearms and Defensive Tactics course too. That’s the direction I want to head in!’
Wondering what the security industry might have in store for you? Come along to one of our free information sessions and find out!
You’ll be training with QLD’s Large Training Provider of the Year 2020.
Thank you to Rhys for sharing his story!
