The Certificate II in Medical Service First Response reflects the role of first medical response workers or volunteers who provide initial care to patients. These people provide basic first aid and emergency responses in the pre-hospital or out-of-hospital environment.
This course has been designed to equip you with the clinical skills and knowledge to perform first response roles in a range of sectors. Throughout this course you will gain skills to assist in decreasing scene times and increasing the standard of medical care and survivability of serviously injured casualties.
Course Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a HLT21020 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response (Statement of Attainment).

Entry Requirements
There are no formal pre-requisites required for entry to this course.
Students must be physically capable of responding to first aid emergency scenarios, including providing CPR to a manikin on the floor. Anyone in a wheelchair or with other disabilities that may impact their participation in these activities should contact us to discuss their individual circumstances before enrolling.
This course is not open to international students (student visa 500).

Assessment Re-Submission Fees
Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.
