Harness your creativity and build an interesting career in catering with this qualification.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in catering operations who use a range of cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food items.

Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification does not meet the requirements for trade recognition as a cook, but can provide a pathway towards achieving that.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various catering settings, such as hospitals and aged care facilities, sporting and entertainment venues, hotel banqueting departments, cook–chill production kitchens, and mobile catering businesses of varying size.

Entry Requirements

What do I need before I start?

There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course.

You will however require basic English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Before commencing this course, you will be required to undertake an Online LLN ASSESSMENT.

If you are completing the course via an online or RPL delivery mode, you will need access to a computer with word processing, PDF reader capabilities and an internet connection.

Please be advised we are unable to train students on a student visa. You must find a CRICOS registered training provider.
