SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management

Build on your existing retail or customer service experience and move into a management role with this qualification.

As a Retail Manager you:

  • Lead a frontline team
  • Manage day-to-day operations of a retail store or department
  • Implement and deliver on organisational objectives and standards
  • Possess highly developed selling and customer engagement skills
  • Have sound knowledge of product and service offerings
  • Work with independence
  • Take responsibility for your own work as well as that of others

This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including speciality retailers, supermarkets, department stores, and quick service restaurants.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Certificate IV in Retail Management (SIR40316).

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who have completed:

OR have relevant industry employment experience in a job role that has involved the application of skills and knowledge described in core units of competency from the SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail.

You will require intermediate English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills. If you have not previously completed a Certificate III qualification you may be required to undertake an Online LLN TEST prior to commencing enrolment in this course.

If completing the online course you will also need:

  • Access to a computer with word processing, PDF reader capabilities and an internet connection

Delivery Options

OPTION 1 – Study Online
Study where and when it suits you by using our interactive elearning platform. You will have 12 months to complete this course at your own pace. You will be able to contact your trainer by email and phone for assistance.

OPTION 2 – Study Online at our Facilities
You can complete the same online course at our facilities using our resources and equipment at no extra cost. If you need some direction, we will have staff available to provide additional support if required. This option is not available at all locations, bookings are essential.

OPTION 3 – Study in Class
By request only. We can schedule a 5 or 10 day face-to-face workshop for groups of 5 or more students. Note that there may be additional work required following the workshop to complete the course in full.

OPTION 4 – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
