Control Persons Using Empty Hand Techniques is a required unit in refresher training for licensed Security Professionals.
There are occasions when the use of verbal de-escalation techniques alone is not sufficient to manage conflict or prevent escalation. Security Officers and Crowd Controllers may be exposed to these situations and need to be capable of applying effective physical control techniques. There is no need to have any martial arts or fighting skills to work safely in the security industry; this course covers a variety of simple yet effective techniques that can be applied by anyone regardless of their size and strength.
While many Security Officers and Crowd Controllers are experienced at responding to and managing conflict situations, the Office of Fair Trading has determined that Security Providers who hold a Crowd Controller and/or Bodyguard licence function need to complete a re validation of their control and restraint skills every 3 years. This course is designed to reinforce the participant’s conflict management, control and restraint skills and meet the requirements for renewing a Security Providers Licence in Queensland.
This course is designed for current working Security Providers who require revalidation training.
On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPPSEC3013A Control Persons Using Empty Hand Techniques.
This course is designed for current working Security Providers who require re validation training.
