The 11346NAT Diploma of Operational Safety (Critical Threat Management) prepares professionals to lead responses to complex, high-risk incidents and develop proactive strategies to prevent threats to people, assets, and communities.
This program is designed for security, corrections, law enforcement, and protective services personnel who operate in environments where the risk of active threats, civil unrest, or large-scale emergencies is significant. Learners will develop advanced skills in crime prevention through environmental design, threat assessment, crisis simulation, and tactical disengagement. Mandatory
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Meet the fit and proper person requirements for possession and use of restricted items/prohibited weapons in your state or territory
- Hold HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (or equivalent) issued within the last three years
- Demonstrate operational experience through a security qualification, current security licence, or relevant employment in an operational role
Recommended
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing security risks, responding to critical incidents, or working in high-threat environments
- Supervisory or team leader experience in security, emergency response, or protective services
This qualification is delivered through blended learning over 12 months. Training includes:
- Online study, supported by a series of intensive workshops (1–3 days per unit)
- Workplace-based training requirements (where no workplace is available, these can be completed at an Asset College campus)
