  COURSE OVERVIEW

  Crowd Control Refresher for QLD Security Licensing

  **This course has online learning and assessment that must be completed prior to attending your face to face workshop.**

  Every three years, crowd controllers and bodyguards are required to undertake refresher training. You should check with the Office of Fair Trading prior to booking your refresher training what units you will be required to undertake.

  COURSE OUTCOMES

  On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:

  • CPPSEC3101 Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation
  • CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques

  Licensing

  QLD Security Providers licensing is administered by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). Once students have successfully completed this revalidation training they will be provided with a Statement of Attainment (Certificate) and Statement of Results outlining the delivery and assessment methods for these units. It is the student’s responsibility to submit both of these documents to OFT in order to comply with their licence requirements.

  Revalidation training must be completed in full. The Office of Fair Trading will not accept certificates where these units have been achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

  ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  In order to participate in this course you must:

  • Hold a current Security Providers Licence in QLD
  • Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and interpret legislative documents, organisational policies and procedures, draft incident reports and communication in plain English

  You will need access to a computer with an internet connection to complete the online component of this course.

  Please be advised we are unable to train students on a student visa. You must find a CRICOS registered training provider.

  You will need to provide on enrolment:

  • Enrolment Form
  • USI
  • Photo Identification
  • Payment
  • Proof of current Security Providers Licence in QLD

  We require all of the above to be completed and until all of these are received your spot is still tentative and therefore if the course becomes full, your booking may be moved.

  UNITS OF COMPETENCY

  You must demonstrate competency in a total of 2 units.

  • CPPSEC3101 Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation
  • CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques

  Please check your notice from the Office of Fair Trading to see if you also require Provide Advanced First Aid to refresh your licence.

  DELIVERY OPTIONS

  Online + 1 day in class

  Completion of the online assessment prior to attending your face to face workshop is mandatory. Should you not complete your online assessment, you will not be permitted entry to the face to face course. You will need to rebook and this will incur a rebooking fee of $50.

  You should allow up to 8 hours to complete the online learning and assessment.

  The practical day in class will run from 8.30am – 5.00pm.

  Refresher training is delivered at the following locations:

  • North Lakes (QLD)
  • Logan (QLD)
  • Gold Coast (QLD)

  Assessment Re-Submission Fees

  Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.
