Overview

Crowd Control Refresher plus Advanced First Aid

Anybody who holds a Security Providers Licence and is actively working in the security industry is required to complete Crowd Control refresher training in order to keep their skills and licence current.

This training must be completed every 3 years.

Students may also choose to undertake individual units depending on their licensing requirements. To determine the units that you may need to undertake, you can contact the Office of Fair Trading on 13 74 68 for confirmation.

Course Outcomes

On completion of this course you will be awarded a statement of attainment with the following units of competency:

  • CPPSEC3101 Manage conflict and security risks through negotiation
  • CPPSEC3121 Control persons using empty hand techniques
  • HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid

Entry Requirements

In order to participate in this course, participants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have previously completed a Certificate II or Certificate III in Security Operations; or hold a Security Providers licence
  2. Must have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and interpret legislative documents, organisational policies and procedures, draft incident reports and communicate in plain English

Please be advised we are unable to train students on a student visa. You must find a CRICOS registered training provider.

Students must be physically capable of responding to first aid emergency scenarios, including providing CPR to a manikin on the floor. Anyone in a wheelchair or with other disabilities that may impact their participation in these activities should contact us to discuss their individual circumstances before enrolling.

We require all of the above to be completed and until all of these are received your spot is still tentative and therefore if the course becomes full, your booking may be moved.

Delivery Options

This training requires you to complete both online training and attend face to face. The online assessments for this course should be completed prior to your booked practical days. Should you need extra support with your online assessments, complete as much as you can and your trainer will be able to assist you when you attend your workshops days.

Assessment Re-Submission Fees

Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.

Security Licensing

QLD Security Providers licensing is administered by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

Once students have successfully completed this revalidation training they will be provided with a Statement of Attainment (Certificate) and Statement of Results outlining the delivery and assessment methods for these units. It is the student’s responsibility to submit both of these documents to OFT in order to comply with their licence requirements.

Revalidation training must be completed in full; the Office of Fair Trading will not accept certificates where these units have been achieved through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Please keep in mind that there is a fee for renewing your Security Providers Licence.
