About the Launceston area

Launceston is the second largest city in Tasmania after the capital, Hobart. Launceston was founded in 1806, it’s one of Australia’s oldest cities and there are many beautiful historic buildings and landmarks.

Launceston is considered one of the most livable regional cities. It was voted Australian Town of the Year in 2022.
