Asset College Helps Security Officers Transition To QLD
Emmalene Gottani was not new to security when she found Asset College.
She had worked in a day supervisory security position from 2012 to 2015 in Canberra, ACT. After moving to QLD Emmalene decided that she should get back into security as it was what she really loved doing.
“I wanted to get back into the industry as I like making people feel safe and helping them. That makes me feel good”.
Emmalene found out about Asset College when she was previously working at Coles in the deli. She had spoken to one of the Coles Security Officers and asked where he had completed his training. He recommended Asset College to Emmalene.
“He said he had a really good experience and he would highly recommend Asset College”.
Emmalene had the pleasure of studying under Lynn Meecham when completing her updated security training at Asset College.
“I found the training excellent. Lynn was very thorough.”
On completion of her training Emmalene participated in post training pre-screening and employment coaching. She says it gave her a further understanding of how to write a good resume as well as many other aspects of the job hunt.
“It has taken me years to find a way to present my resume. Asset College reassured me how to present at an interview and how to land that job!”
Before Christmas last year Emmalene received a job notification from the Asset College Employment Services team of a position available with Pickwick Security. She had just received her security licence so it was perfect timing! Emmalene interviewed the following day and started that afternoon. She has been with Pickwick ever since!
“I am really liking my role. I am working as a Loss Prevention Guard in a shopping centre doing about 38 hours a week which is great!”
“I would like to thank Asset College. I landed my second job with Michelle, who was one of the security trainers as well and I have made some really good contacts and great connections through Asset College.”
