This course has been designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations.
Overview
**This course has online learning and assessment that must be completed prior to attending your face to face workshop.**
Are you good in an emergency? Do you have the ability to stay calm and assist where needed while directing others to do the same? Improve your emergency management skills with advanced first aid.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Course Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid (Statement of Attainment).

Entry Requirements
Students must be physically capable of responding to first aid emergency scenarios, including providing CPR to a manikin on the floor. Anyone in a wheelchair or with other disabilities that may impact their participation in these activities should contact us to discuss their individual circumstances before enrolling.
What will I need to provide to enrol?
You will need access to a computer with an internet connection to complete the online component of this course.
International students are accepted into this course.
Minimum age to attend ASSET’s first aid courses is 13.
We require all of the above to be completed and until all of these are received your spot is still tentative and therefore if the course becomes full, your booking may be moved.
If you only need the Advanced First Aid upgrade, you will need to provide us with a copy of your certificate with current units to be credit transferred. The units must be:
These units must have been completed in the last 6 months. If your certificate does not list these unit codes, you will need to complete all units in the new Advanced First Aid.

The Advanced First Aid course covers the following units:
If you hold current HLTAID009 and HLTAID011 certificates and only need to complete an upgrade, you will only undertake HLTAID014.

Online + 1 day in class
Completion of the online assessments prior to attending your face to face workshop is mandatory. Should you not complete your online assessments, you will not be permitted entry to the face to face course. You will need to rebook and this will incur a rebooking fee of $50.
You should allow up to 8 hours to complete the online learning and assessment.
If you already hold a current first aid certificate and wish to complete just an upgrade, the cost is $100. You must supply us with your current Provide First Aid certificate. You will be required to undertake online study plus attend a 2 hour practical.

Assessment Re-Submission Fees
Should you be deemed not competent after 2 attempts at a unit of competency, an assessment re-submission fee of $50 will apply per assessment.
