Asset College has partnered with QLD Dance and Performing Arts, combining the best in the professional dance world with nationally recognised qualifications.

QLD Dance and Performing Art’s mission is to train and create prospective young professional artists, helping them to succeed in professional international ballet, contemporary or circus companies!

Students who enrol with QLD Dance and Performing Arts may do so as a precursor to university enrolment, allowing them to gain valuable practical skills, setting them apart from other university entrants.

Queensland Dance and Performing Arts offers a professional Full-Time Dance and Circus training program for students from the age of 12-22 years. The syllabus prepares students in refining technique, performance skills and artistry for an international career in ballet, contemporary and circus companies. The syllabus enables graduates to emerge as complete dancers and circus artists who are ready to work in a professional dance company and Circus arena.

Dancers will accomplish a strong technique; develop artistry and guided to achieve the psychological and emotional readiness required to enter as a professional performer.

Students will be prepared for mid-year and end of year assessments, Borovansky exams; professional school and company auditions; International summer schools, scholarships; national competitions. International competitions Prix de Lausanne (Switzerland), Alana Haines (New Zealand), YAGP (USA), Australian Institute of Classical Dance Awards for approved students. Class numbers are kept small to individualize and meet the needs of respective student’s potential.

Regular setting of long and short-term goals is an essential aspect of the program. Students will be given access to professional guidance regarding auditions, CV preparation, DVD production and portfolio photos.

Safe Dance and Injury prevention are central features of a professional career. QLD Dance and Performing Arts have an appointed dance Physiotherapist and certified Pilates instructor to support and educate students in managing their physical needs!
