Data Entry Operators basically take written information from forms, applications or company files, and enter the information into computer system databases or applications for business use. They are also tasked to update and maintain the information in the database, review and verify the data entered and ensure its accuracy and confidentiality.
Due to the nature of their work, Data Entry Operators must be familiar with data programs and applications. They must also possess technical capacity, excellent keyboarding skills, typing speed and accuracy and organisational skills.
Related work experience, though, gives applicants an edge when applying for jobs.
