Educational Consultants advise students and/or their parents about educational and career opportunities. They help students make transitions in their educational programs, i.e. going from high school to university, specifically in the organisation selection and admissions processes, filling out financial aid applications and preparing for testing.
Educational Consultants might also work with parents, especially those of of special-needs children, advising them on suitable schools for the children and helping them apply for available and appropriate grants or funding.
Education Consultants usually have daytime or early evening working hours. They follow a flexible schedule to consider the students’ and parents’ schedules. Aside from having previous experience in a related role, they must be knowledgeable on all student options and be able to provide students with relevant information. Education Consultants should also have excellent communication skills and great organizational abilities.
