Human Resources Assistants support human resources processes by administering tests, scheduling appointments, conducting orientations and maintaining records and information. They are involved in nearly all programs and services that relate to a company’s human resources division, and are also focused on helping HR Directors and managers accomplish HR-related tasks.
Aside from administrative duties, Human Resources Assistants are also often involved in recruiting, hiring and training new employees. Their usual tasks include posting job openings, gathering information on new applicants, contacting references and informing employees of their hiring status.
To effectively perform the duties, Human Resources Assistants must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. They must also be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, with employees, management and job applicants.
