Labourer

Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (OHS White Card)

This unit of competency supports the attainment of the basic OHS knowledge required prior to undertaking designated work tasks within any of the sectors within the construction industry.

Description of Role

An OHS White Card is required for work on construction sites no matter what your job title is! This certification is a requirement for access to these sites and to ensure safe working practices.

Usually those working in carpentry, demolition, skilled labouring, tiling, concreting and a number of other trade professions are those most likely to hold a White Card but it is also a requirement for industries like security where static or patrol guards are required to access construction sites.

Those who hold a White Card provide assistance to municipal services staff in completing their assigned tasks and adhere here to safe operating procedures in accordance with all state legislation and company policies and procedures.
