Overview
Queensland Government Funded Training — Career Start & Career Boost
What are Career Start and Career Boost?
Both Career Start and Career Boost are Queensland Government-funded vocational education and training (VET) programs managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET), designed to support people into employment or to advance their careers through subsidised training.
- Career Start is focused on helping individuals start their career, build entry-level skills and get workplace experience through qualifications or traineeships.
- Career Boost is targeted at people who want to take their career to the next level, offering access to higher-level qualifications and traineeships for career progression.
Both programs support entry via either a general training pathway (direct enrolment in a qualification) or an employment-based apprenticeship/traineeship pathway where the student is employed and completing paid work while studying.
