If you or your employees frequently visit Australian outback locations or work on offshore facilities, knowledge of first aid in remote situations is vital.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in a remote or isolated site over an extended period of time until medical assistance is provided, or evacuation occurs.

This unit applies to any site where medical assistance is likely to be delayed.

First aid is to be provided in line with guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in remote or isolated site (Statement of Attainment).

Students must be physically capable of responding to first aid emergency scenarios, including providing CPR to a manikin on the floor. Anyone in a wheelchair or with other disabilities that may impact their participation in these activities should contact us to discuss their individual circumstances before enrolling.

International students are accepted into this course.

Minimum age to attend ASSET’s first aid courses is 13.

This course is delivered in a 1.5 day face to face workshop with online components. This qualification is only available for group bookings and therefore we can provide quotes for this training to be delivered at your site or at our offices. Please contact us.

I just wanted to let you know that our trainer was amazing. I have done first aid and CPR classes a few times before and normally the trainer has just told us what to write and then gotten us to use a bandage etc.
This version was so much more informative and I think it prepared us all for real emergency situations so we might actually provide first aid instead of watching. His humour and constant energy made the day very enjoyable.
