Course Overview
HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.
This unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
It has been designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other First Aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Course Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (Statement of Attainment).
Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisite units required for this qualification. It is however expected that participants have English language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to at least Year 10 level.

Delivery Options
This workshop is conducted over 1 day, 8 hours (face to face).
Training is completed through in class presentations, practical demonstrations, group discussions, scenarios and other interactive learning techniques to ensure that all participants gain an understanding of the first aid skills.
