Course Overview
Planning to work in the construction industry in the Northern Territory? You’ll need a White Card before stepping on site.
This White Card course (CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) is the mandatory general construction induction training required for all workers entering construction sites across the NT and Australia.
Asset College delivers this nationally recognised training via face-to-face or online formats, giving you the flexibility to complete your White Card in a way that suits you.
While the training is completed through Asset College, the actual White Card is issued by the Territory Business Centre (TBC) under NT WorkSafe. After successfully completing your training and receiving a Statement of Attainment, you will need to submit an application directly to the TBC to receive your White Card.
Course Outcomes
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Identify WHS legal requirements relevant to construction in the NT
- Recognise common hazards and implement control measures
- Understand health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Respond to incidents and emergencies in construction environments
- Receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- Apply for a Northern Territory White Card through the Territory Business Centre
The White Card issued in the NT is nationally recognised and valid in all states and territories.

The qualifications and practical experience I have gained by studying at Asset College have been life-changing. I completed Cert 3 in Security Operations, Cert 2 in Aviation Transport Security, RSA and OHS White Card qualifications.
From meeting Mike at the start in information sessions, trainers in each course – James and Ian – and employment pre-screening and resume assistance following, I gained the qualifications, practical experience and most importantly the confidence and knowledge to become an exceptional Security Officer.
I have recently been successful in the interview process for ISS at Brisbane International Airport. I am very excited to start my new career and I have Asset College and all of the staff and trainers to thank for my success. Thank you all!
