BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety

This qualification is suitable for people working in a work health and safety (WHS) role and who may or may not work under supervision. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification reflects the role of workers who apply a broad knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of contexts and may include coordinators, advisors and facilitators.

Course Outcomes

A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41415) will be awarded upon successful completion of this course.

This will be suited to the following job roles:

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisite units required for this qualification. It is however expected that participants have English language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to at least Year 11 level. Basic to intermediate computer skills are also required for entry into this qualification.

Units of Competency

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety includes a total of 10 units.
5 Core and 5 Electives.

Core units

  • BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
  • BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
  • BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
  • BSBWHS405 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
  • BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents

Elective Units*

  • BSBWHS408 Assist with effective WHS management of contractors
  • BSBWHS410 Contribute to work-related health and safety measures and initiatives
  • BSBPMG522 Undertake project work
  • BSBMGT401 Show leadership in the workplace

Delivery Options

OPTION 1 – Study Online
Enrol at anytime.Study where and when it suits you by using our interactive elearning platform. You will have 12 months to complete this course at your own pace.

OPTION 2 – Study Online at our Facilities
Enrol at anytime. You can complete the same online course at our facilities using our resources and equipment at no extra cost. We will also have staff available to provide additional support if required. Note: Subject to availability, bookings are essential.

OPTION 3 – Study in Class
Although we do not generally offer this course in-class we can schedule a 5 or 10 day face-to-face workshop for groups of 5 or more students. Note that there may be additional work required following the workshop.

OPTION 4 – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
