Miscellaneous Weapons Course (Category E, M-Other and R)

The Miscellaneous Weapons Course (Category E, M-Other and R) provides a foundational introduction for individuals interested in collecting or possessing specialised weapons under Queensland law. This course is designed for those seeking to expand their knowledge of weapons legislation and obtain the appropriate licensing required for legal possession of Category E, M-Other, and R weapons.

Participants will gain the critical skills and understanding necessary to comply with Queensland’s Weapons Act and Regulation. The course covers key topics including an overview of relevant laws, the role and impact of weapons within the community, and the responsibilities of licensed collectors and owners.

Practical and theory-based learning ensures participants are equipped with the ability to:

  • Handle weapons safely and confidently,

  • Store and transport them in accordance with legal requirements,

  • Navigate the licensing process with confidence, and

  • Understand the ethical and social responsibilities associated with weapons ownership.

This course also includes specialised content relevant to collectors and those with a genuine reason to possess these specific weapon types. Whether you’re new to collecting or looking to ensure compliance with current legislation, this course offers a comprehensive introduction to safe, legal, and responsible weapons management.

On successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for Statement of Attainment for 11029NAT Course in Firearms and Weapons Safety (Approved for Firearms Licensing in Queensland).

“I have owned firearms, and completed firearms training in several countries.

ASSET was by far the most comprehensive and taught an old hand like myself new aspects of firearm regulations in QLD specifically.

I look forward to completing my category H license in the near future, as well as bringing more friends along for their courses too.”
